Wine grape smart marketer workshop July 24

A workshop on smart wine grape marketing for Central Valley wine grape growers is scheduled for July 24, from 1:30. to 4 p.m., at the Piccadilly Inn University in Fresno.

It is cosponsored by the California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG), Central California Winegrowers (CCW), and Allied Grape Growers. Following a welcome from Allied Grape Growers President and CAWG and CCW Director Nat DiBuduo, Allied Grape Growers Vice President Jeff Bitter will give a presentation on “Utilizing and Analyzing the Crush Report and other Data for Business Planning.”

The remainder of the meeting will focus on several critical aspects of the California Winegrape Inspection Program. Attorney Dale Stern, of Stern, Van Vleck and Ruehmann, will explain the importance of the inspection program to the grower's business, especially the implications for delivery contracts.

Bonnie Eubanks of the Winegrape Inspection Department will outline how the program works, with special emphasis on MOG guidelines.

Allied Grape Growers viticulturist Emilio Miranda will highlight what growers need to know before their grapes go to inspection, while Vie-Del Co.'s Doug Cederquist will focus on how the Winegrape Inspection Committee is working for the industry.

To register for this workshop, or for more information, contact CAWG at info@cawg.org or call 1-800-241-1800.
