The three-day event will begin with a workshop discussing the current international trade climate for the fresh produce industry, followed by an update on the proposed produce bill. The second day of workshops will discuss healthcare and workers’ compensation issues along with the water supply and storage challenges facing the industry.

The association has numerous other events planned, including the Award of Honor dinner, which recognizes an outstanding contributor to the community and the fresh produce industry.

Western Growers will also host a live auction and opportunity drawing benefiting the Western Growers Charitable Foundation’s Growing With Children school garden program. The final day of event will conclude with a shotgun golf tournament and breakfast on the grounds of the Gainey Ranch.

Western Growers is an agricultural trade association whose 3,500 members grow, pack and ship 90 percent of the fresh vegetables and nearly 70 percent of the fresh fruit and nuts grown in Arizona and California. WG’s members grow approximately one-half of the nation’s fresh produce.
