UC Small Grain Field Day May 1, Visalia
The University of California Small Grain Field Day will be held Tuesday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Tour from 9 a.m. to noon. Trial will be demonstrated at Milky Way Dairy. Breakfast burritos and coffee will be provided.
- Stop One: Large Scale Wheat and Triticale Silage Trials - Wheat, triticale trials will be observed for disease resistance, yield and quality evaluation of varieties. Steve Wright, Gerardo Banuelos, Phil Mayo, UCCE and UC Davis, Industry Speakers.
- Stop Two: Grass Herbicide Study in Irrigated Wheat - Several herbicides were evaluated including new products and tank mix in combination with broadleaved herbicides.
- Stop Three: Broadleaf Weed Control with Express herbicide and other broadleaf and grass herbicide combinations will be demonstrated and discussed.
Directions: East or West on Hwy 198 to Road 80 (Plaza Drive). Go north on Road 80 past Avenue 328, the Tulare County Landfill and St. Johns River. Then turn right about a quarter mile past the river onto a paved road with green gates and follow the paved road to Milky Way Dairy just past the gates.
