Sorghum Field Day, Sept. 25, Tulare
Chromatin Inc., a provider of crop breeding technology, sorghum seed products, and feedstock, will sponsor a Sorghum Field Day Sept. 25 in Tulare, Calif.
The event is an opportunity for California growers to have a close up view of a variety of grain sorghum hybrids, plus speak with experts who have been involved in growing the crop.
The Field Day will be held at the College of Sequoias which has been growing 120 acres of different sorghum hybrids provided by Chromatin and its subsidiary Sorghum Partners.
Growers can tour the fields to inspect the different sorghum hybrids and learn from experts about sorghum’s unique properties that make it a good fit for many California growing areas.
During the Field Day, growers will learn about the Chromatin’s 2014 Grain Sorghum Program for biofuels production, including seed options, agronomic information, and best management practices for growing grain sorghum in California.
