Seeds for Bees Field Day April 26, Hamilton City; PAm to Host a 'Seeds for Bees' Event April 26; 1:30 p.m.; Capay Ranch near Hamilton City, Calif.
The field day will showcase blooming fields of rapini (Brassica), clovers, vetch, alyssum, phacelia & a mix of native wildflowers. All are an excellent nutritional sources for honey bees. Learn how the soil is prepped, equipment used, bloom emergence/duration and more. Of course, there will be honey bee hives on location! This is a great opportunity to meet participators in the "Seeds for Bees" project. Forage outreach materials, including seed packets, will be available for you to take home. Don't miss this event!
The ranch is just north of Hamilton City. Proceed to the intersection of Hwy 32, Hwy 45 (to south) and County Rd 203 (to north) in Hamilton City. This 3-way intersection is the only stop light in town and the location of Hamilton City High School. At the stop light turn north onto County Rd 203 and go 1.5 miles to Wyo Road, then 300 yards west to driveway (two big columns with gate), road travels out through forage fields.
From northbound I-5: take 2nd Orland exit "Chico, Highway 32" and follow above instructions.
