The second annual Southwest Ag Summit is planned for March 12 and 13 in Yuma, Ariz. Sponsored by the Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association and the University of Arizona, the summit will showcase timely and essential information through keynote speakers, educational forums, and exhibits.

In an ever-changing, complex industry, the organizers’ goal is to provide regional stakeholders with key information that affects vegetable production.

Keynote speaker, Hugh Grant, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Monsanto’s Agricultural Division, will share his views on the future of agriculture in the United States.

Educational breakout sessions moderated by researchers, educators, and industry professionals will address current and emerging issues that face growers today. Concurrent sessions on food safety, technology, globalization, and crop protection will be available to those registered. Continuing education units will be available.

A summit highlight will include an integrative, agribusiness panel discussion on international agriculture, federal and state affairs, plus the North American Free Trade Agreement.
