The Arizona Grain Research and Promotion Council has elected Eric Wilkey to become chairman through the first quarter of 2007.

Wilkey began his career in the commercial grain business in 1985 with Continental Grain Co. He traded spring wheat, hard winter wheat and durum wheat, both domestically as well as internationally from 1985 to 1991.

In 1991, Wilkey joined Arizona Grain as merchandising manager for the feed grain and durum trading operations. By 1994, he was named vice president of Arizona Grain and continues to hold this position today. In addition, he has been a member of the Arizona Grain Research and Promotion Council for the last two years, serves as national chairman of the Transportation, Elevator and Grain Merchants Association and is chairman of the Country Elevator Committee of the National Grain and Feed Association.

Wilkey is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign, with a B.S. Agriculture Economics.
