Greenhouse growers and field crop growers who face tough challenges in selling produce to larger markets are invited to the “Growers Marketing Forum: Farm to Fork (GMF3)” event from Jan. 17-19 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tucson, Ariz.
“Experts speaking at the GMF3 workshop represent a wide range of markets and industry segments and will present practical information on sales and marketing, and give participants the inside track on how to build their sales base and succeed in regional, national, and international vegetable and crop markets,” said GMF3 program consultant Richard Furash of Distance Learning Ventures.
Mike Bach, president of Management Ventures, Inc., will present the “Five Secrets of Successful Selling: Putting the Consumer First.” Craig Slavin, president of The Franchise Architects, will speak on “Food Service: What the Franchises Want.”
Growers who want to sell to major grocery chains will get much needed insights from panelists from the grocery stores Safeway and Bashas'/AJ's during a panel discussion.
The registration fee is $650 and includes a tour of Eurofresh Farms, the largest glass greenhouse vegetable operation in North America.
The University of Arizona's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Controlled Environment Agriculture Center and Distance Learning Ventures LLC are the forum sponsors.
