USA Rice Federation President and CEO Betsy Ward and VP Government Affairs Reece Langley met with members of the California Rice Commission (CRC) to discuss rice-state relations, the 2012 farm bill and other rice industry issues.CRC, which represents the entire California rice industry, is a member of the USA Rice Federation.California growers and handlers are represented on USA Rice boards and committees, providing expertise and perspective on issues and programs.
Earlier in the day, Ward and Langley visited the TRC Group and were briefed on the company's global activities by President and CEO J.K. Kapila and Assistant Manager Liza Konnert Rendon. On Wednesday, Ward was at Farmers' Rice Cooperative in Sacramento to meet with FRC President and CEO Frank G. Bragg and VP Field Services Rob Paschoal.
"USA Rice and CRC have an important working partnership," Ward said. "We appreciate the time and effort California members put into volunteer service in both organizations. I also want to thank the members we met with this week for their time and sharing their views on key industry issues we are working together to address."
