The 50th Annual CII Conference will be held at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West in Sacramento, Calif., on Jan. 30-31 2012. This year’s Opening Panel brings together leaders from various perspectives to discuss California’s water future.  The keynote and Opening Panel will be speaking on Jan. 30 at 10 a.m.   Perspectives being represented in the Opening Panel include a State Planning perspective by John Laird, Secretary of the CA Resources Agency; Jeff Kightlinger, General Manager of Metropolitan Water District; Tom Birmingham, General Manager of Westlands Water District; Fran Spivy-Weber, Vice-Chair of the State Water Resources Control Board; and Bryce Lunberg, with Lunberg Family Farms providing a unique agricultural water user perspective.

The California Irrigation Institute is the oldest independent forum on water and irrigation in California.  For 50 years the primary purpose of the Institute has been to host an annual conference on California water issues, including water use efficiency, water quality and surface and ground water management.  The conferences feature leading water experts, government agency heads, water district managers, water user perspectives and vendors with new products and services.

The conference theme is “Back To The Future - The Next Fifty Years”. There will be various breakout sessions for both urban and agricultural interests. The conference agenda and registration is available online at www.caii.org.  Space is limited so register early.
