The Almond Board of California has released the 2000 Almond Almanac, a collection of pertinent industry statistics, covering 20 years of almond industry data.
The almanac is compiled from ABC records and is used as an industry wide reference.
The 2000 almanac has some new features this year including a look at production by variety within each county and the USDA Standards for Grades of Inshell Almonds. The annually produced piece also describes the market trends and per capita consumption of almonds vs. competing nuts.
The almanac was distributed at the 2000 Almond Industry Conference Dec. 6-7 at the Modesto Centre Plaza. The annual industry conference saw record attendance this year with 684 registered growers and industry professionals participating in the two day event. "50 Years of Progress" was the theme throughout the conference as the board celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
Copies of the 2000 Almanac can be obtained by calling the Almond Board at (209) 549-8262. The almanac can be downloaded at the ABC industry Web site at www.AlmondBoard.com. The industry Web site also contains current press releases, monthly position reports and a trade & handler contact database.
