Cotton harvesting is in its final stages, just about on schedule with the five-year average of 98 percent.
Alfalfa condition varies from fair to excellent. Harvesting is still active in some areas of the State. Sheeping-off remains active in many areas. Range and pasture conditions vary from very poor to good.
Arizona vegetable, fruit, and specialty crops
Central Arizona growers shipped bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cilantro, kale, parsley, and various citrus.
Western Arizona growers shipped arrugula, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, celery, cilantro, endive, escarole, frisee, kale, Boston, green leaf, iceberg, red leaf, romaine lettuce, parsley, radicchio, spinach, and various citrus.
Temperatures were below normal across Arizona, ranging from 12 degrees below normal at St. John’s to 3 degrees below normal at Phoenix, Tucson, and Yuma.
The highest temperature of the week was 69 degrees at Douglas, Roll, and Yuma. The lowest reading at 5 degrees below zero occurred at Grand Canyon.
Precipitation was recorded in four of the 22 weather stations. The least amount was recorded in Phoenix with 0.01 inches. The most was recorded at Kingman with 0.03 inches of precipitation.
