Avocado growers – Mark April 3 on the calendar for an outdoor avocado seminar focused on high density field plantings and plant growth regulator use - April 3 from 9-11 a.m. at the Nick Stehly Ranch in Valley Center, Calif.

Carol Lovatt of the University of California, Riverside will discuss the use of plant growth regulators for managing growth and pruning in high-density orchards. Gary Bender of UCCE San Diego County will examine high-density spacing and current trials.

Directions – note that Google directions may take you to the wrong place.

If traveling to the south on Interstate 15, exit at Highway 76, go east on 76 about 15 miles. Turn right on Cole Grade Rd., cross the river, and head up the hill. At the top, go to McNally Road and turn right. Go to the end of McNally Rd. Wait in the parking lot outside the gate for directions.

If traveling from Escondido, go north on Valley Parkway into Valley Center, turn left on Cole Grade Rd., go several miles (past Valley Center High School). Turn left on McNally Road. Then follow the directions from the above paragraph.
