California Strawberry Commission safety webinar April 15

Feb 26, 2008 10:11 AM

Leading experts in postharvest handling will present a free webinar on how to best maintain the quality and safety of California strawberries for sell-through to the consumer on April 15, at 9 a.m. PST.

This 90-minute session will focus on four main areas: current food safety best practices for strawberries; ways to reduce postharvest loss; safe handling practices throughout the distribution chain; and how to increase consumer satisfaction and drive repeat purchases.

The six speakers include subject matter experts from the University of California, Davis and the California Strawberry Commission.

All participants will be entered in a random drawing for an expense-paid trip and tour of key strawberry production areas in California.

The California Strawberry Commission, with the Postharvest Technology Research and Information Center at UC Davis, is sponsoring the webinar.

For more information or to register, contact Carolyn O’Donnell at codonnell@calstrawberry.org or 831-724-1301.
