CCA, Organic Fertilizer seminar July 23

The California Certified Crop Adviser Program (CCA) and the Organic Fertilizer Association of California (OFAC) will present a seminar on the role of crop advisers in providing advice and products to growers producing certified organic crops July 23, in Modesto. The all-day seminar will be held at the Stanislaus Ag Center’s Harvest Hall and features speakers on soil management, fertilizers, IPM, biopesticides, and wine grape, almond and stone fruit production.
The program is aimed at crop consultants, organic input suppliers/retailers, and organic growers. CEU hours will be offered for PCAs and CCAs. Subjects to be covered include:
• Certified Organic Farming and Fertilizer
• Soil Fertility Management for Organic Farming
• Role of Cover Crops, Disease and Insect Control
• The Role of Accredited Certifiers and CDFA
• Soil Testing plus several other crop specific presentations.
“The goal of this seminar is to present practical information that will allow crop advisers and growers produce healthy and profitable certified organic crops”, said Allan Romander, chairman of the California CCA.
