Sep 24, 2007 5:28 PM

Kings and Tulare County Farm Bureaus and State Compensation Insurance Fund will host their annual Cotton Harvest Safety Program on Wednesday, September 26, at the Mid Valley Cotton Gin, in Waukena. The free seminar begins with registration at 8:00 a.m. and concludes with a complimentary lunch at noon.

The annual safety program is directed toward cotton harvest equipment operators, crews, ginners and farm employees in conjunction with farm managers/supervisors and growers. In addition, heat stress prevention, road safety, and general workplace safety information will be provided. All segments will be conducted in both English and Spanish.

This is an excellent opportunity to prepare employees for a safe harvest season. Informational handouts and certificates of participation will be provided to document safety and health training.

Reservations can be made by calling the TCFB office at 559-732-8301 or via email at tcfb@tulcofb.org. Please RSVP by September 21.

State Compensation Insurance Fund, established by the Legislature in 1914, is a self-supporting, nonprofit, fairly competitive public enterprise that provides workers’ compensation insurance coverage at cost to California employers.
