Agreement for Goleta water district transfer

Jun 22, 2007 10:11 AM

The Bureau of Reclamation and the Goleta Water District have completed negotiations to facilitate an agreement for the transfer of a federally owned distribution system. The proposed agreement is available for a 60-day public review and comment period.

The facilities are part of the Federal Cachuma Project. These facilities are separate and distinct from all other Project facilities and are utilized by and have been repaid exclusively by the district. The proposed title transfer agreement would apply only to land and facilities and would not affect the district’s existing water service contract with the Santa Barbara County Water Agency or revenues received by the Federal Government from water deliveries made under that contract.

The proposed agreement is available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/warren_act/index.html. To obtain a copy of the agreement or for additional information, please contact Ms. Sheryl Carter at 559-487-5299 (TDD 559-487-5933). If you encounter problems accessing documents online, please contact Ms. Lynnette Wirth at 916-978-5102 or e-mail lwirth@mp.usbr.gov.

Written comments must be received by close of business Monday, August 20, 2007, and should be sent to Ms. Sheryl Carter, Bureau of Reclamation, 1243 N Street, Fresno, California, 93721. Comments may be faxed to Ms. Carter at 559-487-5397 or e-mailed to scarter@mp.usbr.gov.
