Cheddar cheese prices received for U.S. 40-pound blocks averaged $1.16 per pound for the week ending Aug. 12, according to an Aug. 18 report from the National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS). The price per pound increased 1.9 cents from the previous week. The price for U.S. 500-pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $1.15 per pound, up 0.6 cent from the previous week.

NASS said butter prices received for 25 kilogram and 68-pound boxes meeting U.S. Department of Agriculture grade AA standards averaged $1.21 per pound for the week ending Aug.12. The U.S. price per pound increased 6.1 cents from the previous week.

Nonfat dry milk prices received for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged 84.8 cents per pound. The U.S. price per pound increased 0.2 cent from the previous week.

Dry whey prices received for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade standards averaged 29.7 cents per pound for the week ending Aug. 12. The U.S. price per pound increased 0.9 cent from the previous week, NASS reported.
