Pesticide Residue

Pesticides that may remain on crops, relating directly to maximum residue level (MRL) allowances. Agricultural export opportunities for U.S. farmers are hindered by MRL challenges due to burdensome import regulations on pesticide residue levels for U.S. ag exports. The regulations are not uniform and vary according to country.

Pesticide Regulation

The Environmental Protection Agency is charged with working to protect health, property and the environment by promoting the safe and proper use of pesticides. Each state also has agencies that work in the area of pesticide regulation.
