Sara Miller is the new director of communications for the California Plant Health Association (CPHA).

She replaces Jennifer Lombardi.

Miller is responsible for all internal and external communications and serves as primary media contact for Sacramento-based CPHA. She will also manage several educational programs, including a biotechnology program, which promote the environmentally sound use and handling of plant health products and services for the production of safe and quality food, fiber and horticultural products. She will also work with the California Fertilizer Foundation to oversee and administer a school garden grant program, which provides funding for California schools to develop their own gardens, offering teachers and students an experiential learning program that fosters a better understanding of food's journey from field to table.

Miller, a New York native, joins CPHA with five years of experience in communications and public relations. Most recently, she worked with the healthcare team at the Atlanta, Ga., office of Fleishman Hillard, an international public relations agency. She has also worked for the New York City offices of Edelman and SCIENS Worldwide Medical Education.
