- The Outlook 2013 program agenda will provide conference attendees with a well rounded view of California agriculture’s successes.
Are We Having Fun Yet? California Agriculture Success Stories is the theme of Outlook 2013, formerly known as the Spring Ag Outlook Conference, presented by the California Chapter of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). This year’s conference will be held on March 21st at the Hilton Arden West Hotel in Sacramento and will include distribution of the widely acclaimed Trends in Agricultural Land and Lease Values for 2013, the annual publication providing land value information and agricultural content for California and Nevada.
The Outlook 2013 program agenda will provide conference attendees with a well rounded view of California agriculture’s successes. A general overview provided by CDFA Secretary Karen Ross and California Farm Bureau President, Paul Wenger, will lead into individual success stories told by leaders in the industry. A partial list of speakers includes: Joel Nelsen, President of California Citrus Mutual; Richard Waycott, President/CEO of the California Almond Board; Richard Matoian, Executive Director of American Pistachio Growers; Karen Halliburton Barber, Assistant Vice President and Senior Agricultural Analyst with Rabobank, N.A., and Nancy Light, Director of Communications with the Wine Institute. Conference attendees will also hear from special guest, Jean Arnold, founder of the Jean Arnold Group and President of Hanzell Vineyards, who will share her wine industry story that draws on over twenty-seven years of experience in business leadership, executive management, marketing and sales with notable California wineries.
“We are encouraged by the new name we have given to the conference this year and the opportunity to ‘show off’ some of the positive things that have been happening in agriculture in California,” Said Conference Chair, Nat DiBuduo, AFM, President/CEO of Allied Grape Growers. “We think this program will provide a breath of fresh air as well as valuable information to the roughly 250 agribusiness professionals who attend the conference annually.”
The delivery of land and lease value information and the release of the latest issue of Trends in Agricultural Land & Lease Values is a popular component of the Outlook event. Tony Correia, ARA, President of The Correia Company, will present the land trends information and highlight what is being seen with rural land values in California and Nevada.
