The Bagrada bug is back with a vengeance this fall in cole crops grown in California and Arizona’s low desert regions.
John Palumbo, University of Arizona, discusses the Bagrada bug during the 2010 Southwest Ag Summit in Yuma, Ariz. this past spring.
The Bagrada bug damages the growing point on the plant which can result in no head, or smaller or multiple heads rendering the crop unmarketable.
Bagrada bugs tend to hide in the soil during the heat of the day and come out at night to feed.
