Value-enhanced grains topic for international conference

The U.S. Grains Council's Third International Value-Enhanced Grains Conference and Trade Show (VEG III) will bring international grain buyers and U.S. farmers and agribusinesses together in Portland, Ore., July 22-25 to explore the exciting opportunities and benefits offered by value-enhanced grains.

The conference also will explore a host of timely and related issues such as biotechnology, identity-preserved handling, and new uses for value-added products, while the trade show will showcase the latest value-enhanced and value-added products and services.

“As we work to expand export markets for U.S.-grown corn, sorghum and barley, the value-enhanced arena offers tremendous potential. Providing value-enhanced products to our international customers is a win-win proposition, contributing to their productivity and profitability as well as our own,” said council chairman Lisle Cook, who farms in Hubbard, Iowa.

“The international value-enhanced marketplace is evolving so quickly that attendance at this conference should be considered mandatory for anyone who wants to stay on top of the latest technology, products, plans and forecasts,” Cook noted.

The conference location in the Pacific Northwest highlights the importance of U.S. export markets in the Pacific Rim. With participants coming from more than a dozen countries around the world, there will once again be a strong international presence at VEG III.
