An Irrigation Scheduling in a Drought Year Field Meeting is May 6 from 12:15 ‐ 3:00 p.m. at Rio Oso Groves, 15 Pleasant Grove Road, in Rio Oso, Calif.

The agenda includes tools to help growers optimize irrigations and conserve water. Although irrigating walnuts is the main emphasis, information will include tips on irrigating almonds, prunes, and peaches.

Topics include: local irrigation agency updates, plant based monitoring (pressure chambers-stem water potential-guidelines), soil-based monitoring, weather-based monitoring  using evapotranspiration, regulated deficit irrigation and the crops it works on, and research on irrigating young walnut trees.
