Crop Center gets added Expo role

The California Crop Center will have an even bigger role at the World Ag Expo held in Tulare, Calif., Feb. 14-16, 2006. The center was started a year ago to provide information and support to growers of more than 350 crops.

“This is a perfect opportunity for us to show the wide variety of fruits, nuts and vegetables that are grown in the state to people from all over the world,” said Expo Chairman Erin Ferguson. “Plus, it's a good way for growers to learn new things and apply new technology in our own farming operations.”

The California Crop Center will be larger this year. Added activities include panels of California's top growers discussing their plans for 2006-07 cropping strategies plus featured luncheon speakers each day sharing opportunities in California agriculture and the new “We Believe in Growing” crop identification contest.
