Conservation till conference ready

Conservation tillage researchers from the University of Arizona and the Oregon State University will be joining their peers from the University of California at the Western States Conservation Tillage Conference Sept. 8-9 on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley.

The conference will be headquartered at the West Side Research and Extension Center, Five Points, Calif.

The first day will be devoted to researchers providing updates on their work on a wide range of alternative tillage systems for the three states.

The second day has been set aside for conference participants to visit various farms and demonstration sites where conservation tillage approaches are being studied and evaluated.

Sponsors are the Conservation Tillage Workgroup, USDA/Natural Resource Conservation Service and Monsanto.

Additional information is available from UC conservation tillage expert Jeff Mitchell (mitchell@uckac.edu) or 559-646-6565.
