Citrus thrips field day is May 1 at Lindcove Center

Citrus growers are invited to attend a session on citrus thrips on May 1 at the Lindcove Research and Extension Center (REC) in Exeter, Calif.

The 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. field day will utilize the citrus entomology teaching laboratory to learn the different stages of citrus thrips, differentiate citrus thrips from flower thrips, monitor for citrus thrips in the field, and monitor for predatory mites in the field.

Current methods of biological and chemical control and methods for delaying pesticide resistance will be discussed.

Leading the field day will be Joseph Morse, Department of Entomology, University of California, Riverside (UCR), and Beth Grafton-Cardwell, UCR Department of Entomology, Kearney Ag Center and Lindcove REC.

The Lindcove REC is located at 22963 Carson Avenue, Exeter, Calif.
