California Ag Leadership recruiting for Class 36

The California Agricultural Leadership Foundation is accepting applications for Class 36 of the California Agricultural Leadership Program.

“Today, agriculture is faced with more challenges and more complexities than ever before. The world is getting smaller. Global competition is ever increasing,” said Steve Forsberg President of the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation.

It takes creative leadership to effectively resolve such issues as compliance with federal and state environmental laws, trade agreements and disputes, farm labor, workers compensation, mandatory health care, and much more, said Forsberg.

Forsberg said California's agricultural industry needs leaders to effectively resolve these issues.

The ag leadership program prepares current and potential industry leaders to more effectively face the many challenges facing California agriculture by training them to be better communicators, to better understand today's political, social and economic environment and to better understand the need for community involvement and leadership.

Deadline for applying for the new class is June 30. Information on the program and how to apply for it is available from Forsberg or Amy Christensen at (916) 928-2249, achristensen@agleaders.org. Additional information also can also be found on the program's Web site, www.agleaders.org.
