Calcot names Long field rep

Kevin M. Long has joined Calcot, Ltd. as a San Joaquin Valley field representative.

Long, of Madera, Calif., brings 17 years of cotton industry experience to Calcot.

President David Farley noted Long will be “a real asset” to Calcot and its grower-members. “Kevin has wide experience throughout the California cotton industry,” Farley said, “and has proven himself to be a man of honesty and integrity, and is an excellent addition to the Calcot team.

Prior to his hiring at Calcot, he worked most recently for the cotton merchandising firm Jess Smith and Sons of Bakersfield as their director of grower services. Before that, he spent the previous seven years as the California field representative for the National Cotton Council (NCC). Before joining NCC, Long worked for the Cotton Board as its western field representative for four years.

He began his cotton industry career as a gin manager with Producers Cotton Oil Co., working primarily in Fresno County.

A native of Sanger, Calif., Long holds a degree in Business Administration - Marketing from California State University - Fresno.
