Avocado meeting set for Dec. 11

UC Cooperative Extension, the California Avocado Society and the California Avocado Commission are kicking off their first grower meeting for the season.

When: Dec. 11 (Thursday): Temecula (1 p.m. - 4 p.m.)

Where: South Coast Winery Resort, 34843 Rancho California Road, Temecula, Calif., 92591

•Production Research – Building a Sound Foundation through Research

Production research Committee Chairmen and Dr. Guy Witney will report the latest information regarding CAC’s production research program. The reports will provide insight on how the current slate of funded research proposals are structured and funded; the rigorous process through which these research proposals are subjected each year and what the anticipated results/value will have for the growers and industry.

Following the proposal presentations, the committee chairmen will entertain questions and answers along with Dr. Guy Witney, CAC Industry Affairs; and Jan DeLyser, CAC VP Marketing.
