Field crops

Durum wheat emergence has occurred on at least 97 percent of the acreage. Alfalfa conditions are mostly good. Range and pasture conditions are very poor to good.

Vegetables, fruit, and specialty crops

Central Arizona growers shipped bok choy, red and green cabbage, Chinese cabbage, celery, cilantro, greens, parsley, and spinach.

Western Arizona growers shipped anise, arugula, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cilantro, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, endive, escarole, frisee, greens, kale, Boston, iceberg, and romaine lettuce, and green leaf, red leaf lettuce, bok choy, parsley, Swiss chard, and spinach.

Temperatures were below normal across Arizona for the week ending March 14, ranging from 9 degrees below normal at Coolidge and Paloma to 1 degree below normal at Grand Canyon.

The highest temperature of the week was 78 degrees at Yuma. The lowest reading of minus 2 degrees occurred at Grand Canyon.

Precipitation was reported at 20 of the 22 stations. Roll received the least at .01 inches of precipitation. Yuma received the most at .9 inches of precipitation.
