Rogers new Arizona Farm Bureau president

Arizona cotton producer Kevin Rogers is the new president of the Arizona Farm Bureau.

He succeeds Ken Evans, who has served since 1992.

Rogers farms with his parents, uncle, brothers, a sister and his wife, Janel. Together the family farms more than 7,000 acres of cotton, alfalfa, wheat, barley and corn in Phoenix, Laveen, Mesa and Scottsdale.

As a fourth generation Maricopa County farmer, Kevin Rogers knows the difficulties that farmers and ranchers face.

"I look forward to serving as president," he said just after the election. "I will do everything I can to make sure agriculture remains a stable profitable industry in our state."

As president of the organization Rogers is now responsible for representing all of the state's diverse agriculture.

"With President Rogers we enter a new era in the Arizona Farm Bureau," Arizona Farm Bureau Executive Secretary Jim Klinker said. "There's an exciting future ahead for agriculture and our new president will make it a bright one."

Prior to becoming state president he served as first vice president, second vice president and as president of Maricopa County Farm Bureau. He is also vice president of the Arizona Cotton Growers Association. He is active in a variety of community, civic and business affairs and has served on many boards and committees involving agriculture, commodities, trade issues, transportation and the environment.
