Annual California Rice Field Day is Aug. 27

The annual California Rice Field Day will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at the Rice Experiment Station (RES), Biggs, Calif. The purpose of the Rice Field Day is to provide rice growers and others an opportunity to observe and discuss research in progress at RES.

The Rice Field Day is sponsored by the California Cooperative Rice Research Foundation (CCRRF) and University of California (UC).

The REC program will include registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by the CCRRF annual meeting at 8:30. Field tours of research from 9:30 to noon will emphasize progress in rice variety improvement, disease, insect, and weed control.

The REC is located at 955 Butte City Highway (Hwy. 162), approximately 2.5 miles west of Highway 99 north of Biggs, Calif.
