Alfalfa, forage symposium program set

The 33rd annual California Alfalfa and Forage Symposium sponsored by the University of California Cooperative Extension is scheduled for Dec. 17-19 in Monterey, Calif.

Headquarters hotel is the Doubletree.

The informational program begins on Dec. 18. However, the day before there will be an agricultural tour of the Salinas Valley. A separate registration fee is required for this.

The symposium is a comprehensive educational program covering all aspects of irrigated alfalfa production.

The formal program opens on Dec. 18 with a dairy industry update followed by a presentation on alfalfa prices and trends followed by a discussion of regulatory issues affecting alfalfa.

There also will be a trade show for companies serving the $1 billion California alfalfa industry.
