UCANR and the USDA's Risk Management Agency present Ag Survivor: A Risk Management Workshop, Friday, April 27, at the San Diego County Farm Bureau, 1670 East Valley Parkway, Escondido, Calif.
Program #1: (9 a.m. - noon)
- Ag Risk-5 risk controls and tools available for managing risk on farms and ranches in California: Jay Parsons, Agricultural Economist, Colorado State University
- Strategic Risk Management and the risk Navigator tool box, calculate your personal tolerance for risk and risk influence: John Hewlett, Ranch/Farm Management Specialist, University of Wyoming
- Ag Survivor (A Right Risk Simulation) - Risk Management Decisions for the Big Horn Basin Farms: John Hewlett and Jay Parsons
Program #2: (1 p.m. – 3 pm)
- Practice using risk management tools using actual farms records/case study information (computers provided) to see how your operation compares to others, learn to analyze your own records, evaluate risk exposure and more!
