A message from UCCE San Diego Advisor, James Bethke:

Please join us for this important and popular workshop that will help you grow plants.  We are bringing in two famous scientists that are very experienced in the presentation of this material.

The program will focus on basic principles of plant growth and development so that growers will understand how environmental and cultural practices affect plant growth and quality.  The five parts to this workshop are:

  • Basic physiological processes of plant growth and development
  • Plant Hormones
  • Plant essential nutrients and how they are taken up and assimilated
  • Fertilizer, media, soil and irrigation practices to optimize nutrient uptake
  • Environmental and cultural practices impact on plant production
